EC16: Wir sind immer noch im Turnier! [English version below]
Irland 16:0 Österreich
Ganz im Gegenteil zur Fußball Europameisterschaft müssen die Lacrosser nicht nach 2 Niederlagen schon wieder an die Heimreise denken. Bei Lacrosse Großereignissen werden nämlich alle Plätze ausgespielt..JPG)

Ja der zweite Tag war nicht weniger bitter. Gegen ein starkes Team aus Irland hatte man in der Anfangsphase wenig zu melden und nach dem ersten Viertel stand es bereits 7:0. Zur Halbzeit dann 10:0. Bei heißen Temperaturen und noch heißerem Kunstrasen hatten die Österreicher in fast allen Belangen das Nachsehen. Dadurch, dass die Iren in der zweiten Halbzeit dann um zwei Gänge runter schalteten hatte das österreichische Team mehr Spielanteile und konnte auch einige Chancen herausarbeiten. Zum Ehrentreffer hat es dann doch nicht ganz gereicht und man musste sich 16:0 geschlagen geben. Dennoch war es eine wertvolle Erfahrung für das junge Team sich mit einer Topnation Europas zu messen.
Jetzt heißt es Kopf frei bekommen um bereit für das wohl wichtigste Spiel der Gruppenphase gegen Dänemark zu sein. Morgen Vormittag stehen noch eine kurze Trainingssession und nachmittags eine Teambesprechung an um optimal vorbereiten in das Spiel zu gehen.

EC16: We’re still in the Tournament!
Ireland 16:0 Austria
Opposing to the Football European Championships, after two losses, the Austrian Lacrosse Team doesn’t have to worry about their plane tickets back home. Fortunately, at lacrosse events all the placement games are played.
Well, the second day wasn’t any easier. Against a very strong Irish Team, Austria had a tough start into the game and Ireland started off well with a 7:0 lead after the first quarter. And a halftime lead of 10:0. On a day with infernal temperatures and on even hotter artificial turf, the Austrians lost at every aspect of the game. After the Irish took it down a notch or two, Austria found their way into the game. Wasn’t quite enough for a score and so they had to face a tough 16:0 defeat. Nevertheless, it was a good experience for our young team against one of the top nations in European lacrosse.
Get that game out of the heads of our players is the main goal now to prepare for the most important game of pool play for Austria’s Lacrosse Team. A short practice in the morning and a team meeting in the afternoon should prepare them or the game tomorrow against Denmark.
